Raised in a creative environment in the Deep South, Augusta Wilson uses proper etiquette and design as her guides. She received a BFA in painting from the University of Georgia followed by an MFA in painting from Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, Georgia. 

Wilson's paintings are both accessible and thought provoking. "My paintings play with connections: what it means to have a clear path, and adversely, what it feels like to forgo the path and discover your surroundings." 
 

Adventurous color palettes, a variety of layers, and imaginative mark-making are what she calls, "my tools of choice to create pieces that allow for viewers to discover something for themselves." 

Wilson says her goal is to create paintings that grow with the viewer, from the time of delivery and
for years to come.

The artist resides in the Atlanta areas with her husband and three sons.
